In my studio desk space is at a premium so even though I have a Yamaha PSR keyboard I decided a while back to purchase the Arturia Minilab MKII. This awesome 25 note keyboard is portable and fits into small workspaces easily. It ships with Analog Lab Lite 3 which features enough instruments to get you started. I purchased the optional upgrade to the full version of Analog Lab 3 for $29 USD, great price as I believe to buy it separately was $149 USD.
The only thing I dislike is the slow software download speeds from Arturia. Even with a fast internet connection, it took over 8 hours to download the software upgrade from Analog Lab 3 to the new 4.0 version.
If you’re looking for a small and portable midi keyboard/controller then consider the Arturia Minilab MKII.
